ALBANY -- There aren't any plush corner offices in the Department of Environmental Conservation's new building in downtown Albany. In fact, there aren't any offices at all.
The building at 625 Broadway was designed in 1998, when open office architecture was all the rage. But fashion is fickle, and as some of the 1,800 workers uproot from their old building on Wolf Road, there is some ambivalence about the new building's style.
``We anticipated that there would be an adjustment period for people and that there would be a range of acceptance,'' Susan Tatulo, a deputy commissioner at the DEC said.
